Through some of the documents discovered on the FCC website, its now
confirmed that Sony is indeed working on releasing a new model of the
PlayStation Portable, the PSP-3001. Given the information, this said
model appears to have no changes made to the external look compared to
that of the 2000 model. Also it doesn't come with the rumored mic and redesigned HOME button(at least no confirmation yet).
The core details and specifications of this new model are still
unavailable for the public. But we can guess that perhaps changes were
made to the internal aspect of the system to reduce costs. And maybe
even some changes that would make it, I don't know, harder to hack?
We'll have to wait and see until more info is announced by Sony.
