Who do you think will win the Christmas battle?

Hmm.. in all honesty I have to go with the PS3..

Its the 3rd Console of an already hugely popular brand. It offers a whole new selection of games (I'm guessing) and qualities.

Although the Wii is a possibility as its the more "Fun" orientated console. Picture a family in their living room on Christmas morning playing the Nintendo Wii ahaha.

However the 360 is quite a console! but its been around some time longer than the others already..

So yeah PS3 has my vote.

I agree,the PS3 this Christmas has a lot going on, Home will have already arrived along with other great games arriving, the 360 does have halo 3 on the way though which will be a good selling point, im not sure about what other killer games it has though.

Very true this Christmas will be a very fierce competition, I look forward to seeing who ends up on top(probably the wii)

Honestly, I'm truly wondering if Sony can really WOW us this christmas.

Not that I don't believe in Sony, the PS3 is the one console I've wanted since 2005. My only reason for doubting them is because they really seem more focused on their hardware than their software.

They keep saying "Buy our system because it's a great machine!" instead of "Buy our system because it has great games!"

I understand that Sony is under a lot of pressure to make an all-in-one machine that can 1-up the 60 (my abreviation for Xbox360), they just don't seem to understand that gamers are different from movie-goers and music lovers.

Gamers will fork out the money for a PS3 if we think it's worth it. However, Sony doesn't seem to realise that in order to win our buy, you can't try to sell us a $600 Game System/DVD/Blu-Ray Player/Multimedia Center, you have to try to sell us a $600 GAME SYSTEM.

When advertising to us, if you continuously blow our minds with compelling games, we WILL pay $600 for the PS3.

Sony put themselves in a very sensitive position by both pricing the PS3 at $600, AND packing it with all those features. Now, they have to convince us that it is a $600 Gaming system, a $600 Movie hub, AND a $600 Music player all at once, because that's simply what people expect it to be.

It if it were my system, I'd have several teams working on content to appeal to the three primary audiences that the PS3 targets.

When advertising to Gamers, make it look like the console of our dreams, and nothing more. When advertising to Movie Lovers, make it look like a movie player from heaven, and nothing more. When advertising to Music Lovers... well, you get the idea.

Gamers are harder to get at. We're not used to having to pay $600 for a console, but we will pay for it if we think we really can get $600 GAMING experience out of it.

Sorry for the long post. I love the Playstation, but I can understand why people may be a little upset with Sony right now. I hope this lends others a little bit of insight.
