I just purchased the relatively new God of Special Edition PSP. Upon doing a little research I stumbled upon homebrew for the PSP.
Now, I've spent about the past 2 hours going through pages and pages of information, but the very basic beginnings of how to accomplish this on my type of PSP still elude me.
Here is what I know:
My PSP is of the Slim variety
It is running Sony's 3.95 firmware.
Some sites have said that 3.5+ PSP's can only use Flash homebrew, yet these sites could very well be out of date.
I've read on this site it now possible to use other types of homebrew (which I'm not familiar with, but can read about).
There is something called a Pandora Batter and Magic Memory Card that is used to "unbrick" (which I guess means that it allows the firmware to change).
And that is basically where I am. I'm not sure how to implement the Pandora Battery once I get or even if it really will work for this version. I've checked a number of different places, even newb tutorials, yet they all seem to start out with you must have an unbricked PSP.
I'm a person who found out about Homebrew today, and honestly have no idea how to pursue it even though it sounds fantastic. A step by step for my type of PSP would be nice, but there is so much seemingly conflicting evidence and outdated information, that even pieceing it together, much less finding it all one in place, seems near impossible.
If I've just completely managed to overlook something, I would be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction. Homebrew sounds very exciting and I can't wait to give it a try on my own PSP.
Thank you.

Wow thanks. Lots of more info there to fill in the gaps. I should be able to finally piece everything together including any troubleshooting hopefully. Thanks!

Dunno is this is common but I put in my TOOL battery and the PSP won't turn on. I plugged it in, and its charging, but nothing other than that.
