Hudson on major differences of Dungeon Explorer for PSP and DS 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
** This thread discusses the Content article: Hudson on major differences of Dungeon Explorer for PSP and DS **

In an interview conducted by Siliconera, they talked with Mike Pepe, Brand Manager at Hudson Entertainment, on the development of their upcoming RPG for the handhelds, Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts.

The game takes its roots from the classic TurboGrafx 16 title released in 1989. This upcoming version of the game will feature the same real-time RPG action similar to The Legend of Zelda series based on a party-based environment.

Pepe discussed most of the major differences between the game's two versions. Storywise, the PSP version will center mostly on the past events of the game's central universe, while the DS version will focus on the future.

Asides from obvious differences, such as the graphics, the DS version will sport extended Wi-Fi features, with the game being able to hook up to the Nintendo Wi-Fi network. Pepe regrettably mentioned that the PSP version will only be able to handle local Wi-Fi support due to the development team focusing on the PSP platform's story, gameplay, and graphics.

However, both releases will feature huge room for customization, with the PSP leading over the DS with over 150 arts to choose from. He closed the interview by saying that Hudson is looking into reviving more classic TurboGrafx titles sometime in the future. As to what these games will be, he told everyone to keep an eye out for more tidbits from Hudson.

Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts will ship out on the same day this coming February 12 and will be available for both the Sony PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS.
