I have just bought my son a psp slim with ofw 3.72 Can anyone give me step by step instructions on how to put custom firmware on it so he can play homebrew games. Not done anything like this before so please make them clear to understand i dont want to brick his psp before he uses it. Thanks a lot ot anyone who can help.

You will new to b willing to get the right tools first of, If you don't have a PSP Phat at hand, I would suggest buying th battery tool, from datel(I se complaints),
Divineo(I have'nt heaed any complaints, or us as we will be stocking it for users who want to buy direct from us.

Once you either have the SLim Bat tool or a PSP Slim hardware modded or even a Phat converted Pandora(theres many ways of going about this) you can look to create a magic memory stick with this easy installer.This makes the process far easier

Installation Intructions
Format your memory stick via the PSP XMB
Connect PSP to PC via USB
Delete ALL files from the memory stick
Run the installer
Follow the installers instructions
Finished!

No you you've got everything you need follow these instructions to get CFW running on your Slim

• Turn off psp power


• Insert magic memory stick


• Insert pandora battery


• Press "x" when the options appear


• Follow instructions and it will tell you to press x when its finished


• Switch on the psp and press R to activate recovery mode
  Goto advanced


• Select format flash1 and restore settings


• Reboot the psp you should(if all went well)now have installed 3.71-m33"2 FW

This is what you have to to do, Its not that hard with a bit of effort

Where will the 3.71 m33"2 FW will come from? Is it from the Magic memory stick that we created by using the easy installer? Ive been reading a little and most say that you have to have the 3.60 m33 before you could install the 3.71 m33 FW. Please help, I've recieve a PSP Slim 2001 version 3.71 this Christmas, Im starting to lose hope that I'll be able to do alot of stuff with it.

Radz, it all depends on which guide youre using, besides getting 3.71m33-2 to a slim with 3.XX original firmware is the same. You will need the same tools, and its the same process.
